b.liv by cellnique

b.liv by cellnique is a local brand, where its product is produced locally too. It has been in the market for quite a long time, and i finally decided to try out some of the product due to the positive reviews i have seen online.

I've purchased 3 products from the blackheads range, which products targets at oily and acne/blackhead prone skin types. They are: off with those heads black head sebum gel, oil leviate oil control gel and got me covered sunblock + foundation.

Let me start with the most highly raved product: Off with those heads blackhead sebum gel
From the website:
Main Function:
Clear blackheads + whiteheads

Say goodbye to painful squeezing! This light cooling gel promises to remove stubborn blackheads and whiteheads painlessly in just 14 days of application and stop them from appearing ever again. It keeps excessive oil secretion under control and skin irritation will never rule again.

Its comes out as a clear gel and feels cooling when applied to the affected areas. The product information did inform that the area will be slightly oily during the initial application period. And yes, my T-zone did became oilier after i applied this serum. And my forehead did break out a little after i started using this. The effects of it wasn't impressive and the 'oily' situation didn't improve. The blackheads on my chin and upper lip were reduced by a little, but no improvements were observed on my nose and forehead. In fact, i felt that there were more black heads on the mentioned 2 areas.

At $69.95 for 30ml, i didn't think it was worth it.

Next, the Oil leviate oil control gel.
From the website:
Main Function:
Oil control + mattifying + hydrating

Infused with potassium azeloyl diglycinate and grapefruit extract, this mattifying gel perfectly regulates your sebum secretion, helping your skin feel less oily and in need of attention. Its fast absorption and weightless gel texture ensures a healthy and quenched face.
Similarly to the serum, this comes out as a gel too. It is absorbed into the skin very rapidly and it doesn't feels sticky. My face felt soft and smooth right after applying this gel. Although it feels really nice applying this, but the oil control factor of this product disappoints me. It doesn't control my face's sebum production well, the oil control of this basically feels like any other moisturiser to me. Well, maybe my skin is just really extremely oily.

I have actually tried to apply this gel on a side of my face and another moisturizer on the other. The side with this gel actually 'oil' up faster than the other side. And the surprising thing is, the other moisturiser used on the other side of the face is actually only 1/2 the price of the moisturiser. I will do another blog post regarding this moisturiser!(:

This gel is $49.95 for 30ml, and i also think that it isn't worth the price.

Just to summarise these 2 products, i think its only suitable for people with combination/ slightly oily skin. People with extreme oiliness like me, please skip these 2 products! Due to 14 day-return-guarantee, I have fully refunded these products.

Product up close

The products look so similar that i have to label them.

Lastly, its something that i have really started to love and will continue using it! Its the Got me covered sunblock + foundation.

From the website:
Main Function:
Oil control + foundation + sunblock SPF 35***

Get rid of greasy facial complexion with this natural skin tone, oil-free sunblock. Got Me Covered (SPF35, PA+++) shields your skin from harmful UVs and maintains your complexion’s allure. It keeps a tight rein on your excessive oil secretion to ensure blackheads and whiteheads are forever on the run. A non-pore-clogging, weightless and mattifying formulation that got you covered perfectly.

Its a combination of foundation and sunblock, so it really save my preparation time in the morning. It is a creamy lotion, only available in 1 shade, which is more suitable for yellow-toned skin, perfect for me! It is easy to blend, kind of feels like a BB cream. The coverage is light, but it reduces the appearance of my pores! It does little for my acne scars, due to its light coverage, but i usually use concealer after applying this. The oil control for this is awesome! I really really really like this alot! No complains about this!

For only $44.95, there is 45ml of this product, and i only require a small amount(3 pea size pumps) for each application. Will definitely re-purchase it! And for those that requires a heavier coverage, replace your sunblock with this product (it acts as a makeup base too) and go ahead with your usual foundation!

P.S: b.liv by cellnique is having a storewide 20% off till 31 July as part of their GSS promotion!

xoxo,
Nico
